Cambridge Examinations Diploma Ceremony

Cambridge Examinations Diploma Ceremony

Congratulations!

This year the ceremony for the Cambridge certificates took place on Thursday 3rd November.  198 pupils from 6th grade, ESO and Bachillerato received their certificates from Mr. Jon Kear, Exams Services Manager for the British Council in Cataluña and the Baleares.  The School Board was represented by Sra. Eugenia Arenas who also assisted Mr. Kear in the awarding of the certificates.

In his speech Mr. Kear made particular mention of the young age at which St. Paul’s pupils take the Cambridge exams which makes their achievement all the more outstanding.  While the average age for a Cambridge Advanced candidate, for example, is around 20, pupils at St. Paul’s take the exam at the age of 16.  He also highlighted the high number of ‘A’ (over 80%) and ‘B’ (75% to 79%) passes obtained this year in FCE and CAE.

Everyone was also delighted to welcome back 6 ex-pupils who came to the ceremony to receive their certificates for the Proficiency in English examination, a well-deserved reward for their constant hard work, dedication and determination.
